QR infrastructure for physical things

Change what five hundred QR tags do without touching one.

QRtub is the addressing layer between physical things and the systems that hold their data. Reserve the codes, follow the production run, install the Tags, and keep changing what they open for years.

Reserve

The address comes first.

Create five hundred numbered Links in one go, qrtub.com/acme001 to acme500. None of them needs an Item yet, and none of them will ever change.

Produce

One Batch carries the production record.

Export the list for your Supplier: an engraver, an anodizer, or your own machine. QRtub produces nothing. The Batch keeps the export that went out, the stage it has reached, and which of its Tags are installed.

Install

The Tags can be ready before the machine is.

Hold them Ready while the fleet list is finished. When the excavator lands, ACME042 goes on the cab and its Link is connected to that Item on the spot.

Direct Mode

Day one: one scan, one manual.

The Link starts in Direct Mode. Scanning ACME042 opens the operator manual straight away, with nothing in between to tap through.

Scan ACME042

→ Operator manual, in the manuals library

Page Mode

The pre-start check arrives. A Page goes in between.

Switch the Link to Page Mode and the same Tag opens a Page with the pre-start inspection beside the manual. Everyone who scans picks what they came for. Nobody has to be identified.

Your Page

Your colours, and who to call.

Add your branding and the depot contact to the Page. Whoever finds the machine on site sees who owns it and how to reach them.

Another system

The hire booking joins the Page.

The machine goes out on hire, so the booking goes on the Page, pointing at the hire system you already run.

Years later

The inspection app changes. The Tag doesn't.

Point the inspection Destination at the new system from your desk. The Link and the Tag stay exactly where they are, and the next person who scans reaches the current process.

At scale

One edit. Five hundred Tags. Same afternoon.

A Collection shares one Page. Edit it once and every Tag in the Collection opens the new version, while any Item with its own override keeps it. No site visits, and no new Batch.

The latest process,
always in the field.

Start with the address. Connect it when you are ready, and keep changing it for as long as the Tag lasts.

What stays on the record

The Tag carries the code. QRtub keeps the rest of the chain changeable.

01

The Link

A QRtub address that exists before its Item does. Connect it during installation, reassign it later.

02

The Batch

The export your Supplier produced from, the stage it reached, and which Tags are installed. Kept for the life of the account.

03

The Page

Several Destinations behind one code, with live Item data. Sections can show or hide on a rule you write.

Where QRtub sits

Narrower than asset management, more than a QR generator, and the one that treats the codes as a population with a life of their own.

QRtub connects to your asset and inspection systems; it does not replace them.

The nouns change. The connection holds.

Construction

An excavator’s Tag opens its pre-start check and operator manual. Change the check when the tool changes.

Equipment hire

Instructions and the hire booking on one Page, updated when a machine goes out to a client on other software.

Marine

A vessel’s documents and service contacts behind one code that survives salt, sun and a change of operator.

Lifesaving

A rescue tube or defibrillator Tag opens its instructions, its check form and who to call.

Questions

What is QRtub?

The connection between physical things and the systems that hold their data. It gives you permanent Links, tracks them from production through to installation, and lets you change what any code does without touching the Tag.

How is QRtub different from a QR code generator?

A generator makes a code and ties it to a URL. QRtub manages the whole life of a code: reserved in bulk, produced in a Batch, installed, then re-pointed for years — as a population, not one code at a time.

Does QRtub produce the Tags?

No. You or your Supplier produce them. QRtub manages the Links, the Batches, installation state, and what each code opens.

Can we produce Tags before our Items are set up?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons people use QRtub. Reserve Links in bulk, send the export to your Supplier, and connect each Link to an Item when it is installed. That is how you get ahead of a two- to three-week lead time.

What is a Page?

A mobile page a code opens instead of redirecting. It carries buttons, text, images and live Item data, and you can edit it long after the Tags are installed.

Can a Page show different things at different times?

Yes. Any section can be shown or hidden by a rule you write. Rules read Item fields, the device, the time, or a signed-in team member.

Does QRtub know who is scanning?

No, and that is deliberate. QRtub does not record who scans. Everyone who scans a code sees the same Page and picks what they need.

Do I need to replace my existing software?

No. QRtub connects to the tools you already run — inspection apps, maintenance systems, compliance platforms. It sits between them and the physical thing.

Reserve your first Links this afternoon.

Your Supplier can start producing while you finish the Item list.
